Dagger Indra Bookmark this location of the page.
There's a new whitewater boat on the market, the Dagger Indra, a high-performance river runner designed for agility and stability. It comes with their new Contour Ergo Engage Thigh Brace System and features a wide-planing hull with a tapered deck to offer easily controllable downstream play. Available in two sizes, it's suitable for a wide range of paddlers.
Bonafide XTR130 Bookmark this location of the page.
The largest fishing boat we've ever had here, coming in at 170 lbs. and 13 ft. long, the Bonafide XTR130 has been compared to a bass boat. What does that size get you? A generous 750 lbs. of capacity with a wide, walkable open deck including a standing casting platform toward the bow and the ability to add a second seat. Very motor and electronic friendly, it can accommodate bow or stern mount motors and batteries without affecting your ability to carry all the gear you want.
Wilderness Systems Tactical Pro 128 Bookmark this location of the page.
Wilderness Systems is introducing the Tactical Pro 128, a 12-ft., 160-lb. kayak arriving in 2025. With more fisherman motorizing their crafts, they've built in a bow trolling motor area and increased the bow and stern volume while optimizing their catamaran hull for motor use. With all the bells and whistles Wilderness Systems is known for, there's a variety of attachment points and an elevated swivel seat to enhance the fishing experience.
Coming Around Bookmark this location of the page.
If you haven't noticed, swivel seats are all the rage. With an elevated position and the ability to spin 360 degrees swivel seats have now expanded to several boat brands. Like NuCanoe's original design, Wilderness Systems, Native Watercraft and Bonafide have introduced similar models with the same versatility in mind.
The Native Watercraft Slayer Max will be featuring a swivel seat for 2025. Want to upgrade to the new seat? They will have an upgrade available for most of their previous Slayer Max models.
NovaCraft Canoe New Models Bookmark this location of the page.
Nova Craft introduced several new models in 2024, in stock now. For those seeking an ultra-stable canoe, Nova Craft reintroduced the Angler 15', which has a 37” waterline width and an 850 lb. capacity. The Nova Craft Angler provides a stable platform for sportsmen or anyone looking for a safe, secure ride. It also features tumble-home to bring the gunnel width to 33” for ease of paddling.
If you're looking to put a motor on a canoe, then square stern is the way to go. Nova Craft's Lure measuring at 15'7”, is a compact recreational canoe designed for use with a motor. They've added a tri-keel hull to improve tracking and efficiency sacrificed by the square stern design.
The Prospector 14 is a new solo version of the classic canoe series from Nova Craft. As a tried-and-true river running design, it's hard to argue with the responsiveness and versatility a Prospector offers. While the first one we received was out the door within 24 hours, we have one back in stock to check out while you're waiting for warmer weather.

Our Own Backyard Bookmark this location of the page.
It's easy to take for granted the paddling and sight-seeing opportunities in our own backyard. While not nearly as impressive as the higher mountains of the west, the Appalachian Mountain Range is the oldest in the United States. The Susquehanna River, the longest river on the east coast, is nearly as old. Our small section that runs through Perry and Dauphin Counties boasts the National Natural Landmark of five water gaps, cuts through a mountain ridge eroded by a stream. With ever-changing water conditions, the longest stone-masonry arch railroad bridge in the world, and our own version of Lady Liberty, there's something to be appreciated no matter how many times you paddle the same stretches.
Semantics Bookmark this location of the page.
What is the definition of paddling? As individuals with unique spirits, it means something different to all of us. Yet paddling is rooted in a common joy and appreciation we all share for being on the water. Whether you wax philosophical about the healing properties of running whitewater in a raw, wilderness setting or prefer a day out on quiet water in a tiny corner of a secluded pond, our paddling experiences have a way of defining themselves.
But just for fun, we Googled “paddling.” The definitions varied…
Oxford Languages: A flock of swimming ducks.
Merriam-Webster: To move the hands or feet about in shallow water.
Cambridge English Dictionary: To walk with no shoes or socks through water that is not very deep.
Wikipedia: The act of propelling a human-powered watercraft using at least one hand-held paddle.
The Free Dictionary: A spanking or beating with a paddle.
Pretty dry material. Let's stick to our stories and descriptions; our embellishments and inner-musings. They speak more to the nature of the word!
Don't forget, PA's cold weather life jacket requirements begin November 1st.
