BMO Spring 2021 Newsletter

Went into 2021 thinking we were coming out the other side of COVID 19. Wow, were we ever wrong! At least we started 2020 with inventory on hand. Then the entire world (it seems) decided to go outside and we sold through virtually every boat we had. Now, like all other outdoor-related businesses, we’re having trouble re-supplying. Accessories are a LITTLE better but supplies are getting low on them as well. So if you’re thinking of selling boats or gear you might want to make sure you can GET an upgrade before parting with what you have!

Got a call from Northstar Canoes recently announcing that they will be sending a truck our way in late August and have room for a few more boats. They’re only taking special orders (pre-sold boats with customer deposits) and don’t have availability for Northwind 16’s or B 17's, but at this point most other boats are available. After that orders will flip to 2022 pricing, which will definitely be higher. SO if you see a new canoe in your future give us a call soon and hopefully we’ll be able to get it!

Just got a shipment from Nova Craft Canoe, home of Aquafusion, and received 10 Aquafusion Liberty kayaks. Lots of colors and most importantly, in stock (at least for now!)

After years of stocking and selling PFBC non-powered launch permits on the spot here at BMO we are no longer able to get them. Sales are being handled online, at Hunt Fish PA Greg’s put together a tutorial on our website explaining how to get them; (PA Boat Launch Permits)

Since we’re not sure we’ll receive our demo boats on time (looks very doubtful) and have little available to sell, we’ve decided (as most dealers across the country have) to cancel our annual Demo Day once again. Keep posted for 2022…we REALLY hope things are back to normal by then! And we’ll be happy to arrange personal demos by appointment as long as we have the model you’re interested in stock.

Most of you know Doug’s been under the weather lately with aches and pains from all the crazy things he did to himself in his younger years. He told me the other day that he’s “severely decompaciated and suffering from nerve orientated backache and a gastric phenomally”. No wonder he’s hurting!

Hard to believe it’s been that long, but if you’re camping by the river this summer get ready to be serenaded by the seventeen-year cicadas that are emerging after (yup, you guessed it) 17 years of dormancy. Don’t let the appearance of “Brood X” phase you; though they resemble a prehistoric monster with alien-like eyes, they’re harmless and won’t bite. So pull up a camp chair and enjoy the concert, ‘cause you won’t hear it again for another seventeen years!
