Mary Gibson, second in command here at Blue Mountain, could write a whole book on Doug.
Kris Wolpert, who retired from Blue Mountain, occasionally writes about his paddling adventures and we're not sure why helicopters usually enter his stories.
In 2018 the entire paddling community lost Pat Reilly; a local paddler who just loved to paddle what he called "Virgin Waters", streams or section of streams that were new to him. He also liked to paddle and race fast kayaks and canoes. Another passion was writing about these adventures. These stories have been published as "River of the Month" articles in the Canoe Club of Greater Harrisburg's newsletter, "Streamlines". Most of these articles serve as stream guides and cover many streams that Ed Gertler didn't include in the standard reference book of Eastern and Central Pennsylvania streams: "Keystone Canoeing". Some of the articles include tales of "slight misadventures" and usually include a few safety tips on avoiding like circumstances. Other articles address tips on equipment, skills, and other useful knowledge. We’ll never quit missing Pat, but can at least re-live part of him through these tales.
